BiteWork tools
These are the minimum Tools Required to participate in BiteWork:
6-10ft leash
Slip Collar or Prong Collar
Agitation Collar or Harness
Tug or Ball-on-rope Reward Toys
You will need a 6-10ft Leash to handle your dog. If your dog is on the back-tie, it will be clipped to their Agitation Collar or Harness which will allow for the dog to be at the end of the line pulling comfortably. When the dog is on the back-tie, you will clip your own Leash to the correction collar (Slip or Prong) to make control over the dog. If your dog is not on the back-tie, you will clip your own Leash to the Agitation Collar or Harness to allow for the dog to be at the end of the line pulling comfortably. You will use the Tug or Ball-on-rope to reward your dogs obedience away from the decoy/helper.
These are the minimum tools required to participate in BiteWork or Protection Dog Training, however, there are many other tools used for bite development, proofing, exposure and desensitization such as leather rags, wedges, varying level of arm/leg sleeves, muzzles, clatter supplies, bungee lines, etc. that I will either provide during the session and/or recommend that you purchase depending on your specific goals and requirements for your individual dog.
*SAFETY FIRST
*The Tools listed below are tools that I personally have used and know to be quality at an affordable price. Youβre more than welcome to purchase different tools so long as the quality is equal to or greater than the products listed. Quality equipment keeps the dog and the decoy/helper safe!
